Here it is, my 100th deviation. *pauses for applause and only hears crickets* ah well.
James and the Giant Peach is on e of my favorite Roald Dahl books. I started work on this fanart back in with sketches and some colored characters but when I saw that my next deviation was going to be my 100th I decided to finish this one. Actually I started from scratch. I took all the sketches and inked them in illustrator, block colored in Photoshop and then really put a lot of Corel Painter time into it. All in all I'd say I put in at least 12 -16 hours into this.
I'll post some detail shots soon. I am especially proud of Mrs Ladybug's sweater, all the cabling and knitting stuff was painted, and Mr. Earthworm.
[edit]
I decided to make the file a bit bigger so you can see the details a bit better.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

It's adorable Weedy. So bug-ful and little boy cuteness. Ok I'm obviously tired and make no sense.
