Ok, so I just watched the stop motion animated movie James and the Giant Peach, and is also fan art from the book of the same name.

I simply love every Roald Dahl book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Magic Finger, The Minipins, but James especially. I was first introduced to the book by my great Aunt. She had a magical home in suburban Washington DC. There was a laundry duct that took teddy bears on a wild ride to the basement. A backyard that showed us how to make giant soap bubbles. And nights flecked with fire flies. This story is a very precious one to me, and it's about time I gave it some fan art.

I DO plan on coloring this, just thought I'd put the sketch up just in case anyone can help me catch a mistake before I really get into it.

James and the Giant Peach & related characters are © Copyright to Roald Dahl.

Its cute! :3 Now, a James & The Giant Peach TV series in a cartoon format like this would probably be a fun idea... I was just reading some movie reviews on the movie and though they were mostly negative, one said that it might have made a fun TV show, too. But they meant as-is, as in with stop-motion. I think the stop-motion quality would have gone down-hill if they would have done that... One like this would be MUCH better. Also, James & The Giant Peach is a very magical story for me, too. I absolutely loved it when I was a little girl and I still do. I can't believe that those movie reviews were coming from people not much older than I am, who were kids when it came out, as well. Sadly though, the only Roald Dahl book I've ever read was James & The Giant Peach. I keep telling myself I need to get copies of and read the rest of his stories. But no matter what, I think James & The Giant Peach will always be my favorite. ^_^ I loved it so much growing up that when I was still small, I believed that a giant peach had actually landed on the Empire State Building in NY and I wanted to go all the way to NY just to make friends with James and his new insectoid family. xD Boy, was I depressed when I found out that James and his friends didn't exist!
